Leadership Team Bios

As the Director of Borrower Experience and Loan Servicing for Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority (MOHELA) since 2013, Ms. Burns is responsible for the overall Borrower Experience, including the Customer Advocacy and Military VIP Liaison Team, Specialty Loan Servicing for private refinance and in-school loan products, Loan Servicing and the Quality Assurance departments all of which support a world-class customer experience. Prior to MOHELA she served as the Vice President-Manager of the Student Services division of Commerce Bank for 28 years prior to her work with MOHELA. The Student Services division included marketing, client relations, accounting and operations for FFELP and private loans, and system support team which upgraded the in-house origination platform under Ms. Burns’s leadership. Ms. Burns serves on the Missouri Association Student Financial Aid Personnel (MASFAP) Board and is Board Vice-President for Bi-Lingual International Assistant Services (BIAS). With her prior experience and passion for education she is thrilled to lead the Knowledge Finance management team as Executive Director. Utilizing her expertise in origination, servicing, and product development Knowledge Finance is positioned to successfully provide a dedicated division for Income Share Agreement servicing under her commendable leadership. She is committed to building a servicing division dedicated to serving students who are pursuing higher education opportunities and schools and lenders who support them in pursuing higher education and training.
